2012 Mississippi Championship Hot Air Balloon Fest
June 28th – July 1st 2012
This year is the 26th Anniversary of the Mississippi Championship Hot Air Balloon Fest! Don’t miss, dozens of hot air balloons will lead a fun-filled weekend for children and adults of all ages. The four-day event will include four competitive balloon races, two spectacular balloon glows, two incredible firework presentations, Special Shape Fiesta, children’s activities, great food, and great entertainment.
The City of Canton Parks and Recreation in collaboration with Canton Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Mid-Mississippi Balloon Association and The Good Samaritan Center, invite you to the 26th Annual Mississippi Championship Hot Air Balloon Race and Festival.
The Festival is fund-raiser for the Good Samaritan Center Inc. If you would like to be involved in this event as a volunteer or as sponsor please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Our Main Events
Join us on the Historic Courthouse Square with hot air balloons on the Square and lots of great Shopping.
The Ridgeland Balloon Glow and fireworks will be held at Northpark Mall on Friday night, June 29th.
The Canton Balloon Glow, Fireworks and Special Shape Fiesta will be held at the Canton Multi Purpose Center on Saturday night, June 30th.
Golf Ball Drop Fundraiser
Take part in The Good Samaritan Center’s, 3nd Annual Golf Ball Drop!
What’s a Golf Ball Drop and how does it work? First, you have to buy a ball (all will be numbered up to 1000). Then at the festival a hot air balloon will take the balls up in air and drop all of the balls onto the balloon glow field. The closest ball to the target or hole will win $2,000! Simple as that.
You do not have to be present to win! Link to buy and tickets will be available soon!
Special Shape Fiesta
Join us at the Canton Multi Purpose Center on Saturday, June 30th to see special shape hot air balloons.
Pictured to the right, Patriot. A 190 foot tall Space Shuttle was here to delight all ages, young and old at the 2011 Festival! Also joining Patriot in 2011 were: Off the Wall (Humpty Dumpty) and Jumpin’ Jack in the box. See the other special shapes balloon pictures here.
