2010 Mississippi Championship Hot Air Balloon Fest
July 1st - 4th 2010
Dozens of hot air balloons will lead a fun-filled weekend for children and adults of all ages. The four-day event will include four competitive balloon races, two spectacular balloon glows, two incredible firework presentations, Special Shape Fiesta, children’s activities, great food, and great entertainment.
The City of Canton Parks and Recreation in collaboration with Canton Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Mid-Mississippi Balloon Association and The Good Samaritan Center, invite you to the 24th Annual Mississippi Championship Hot Air Balloon Race and Festival.
The Festival is fund-raiser for the Good Samaritan Center Inc. If you would like to be involved in this event as a volunteer or as sponsor please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Our Main Events
Join us on the Historic Courthouse Square for Canton’s First Thursday Art & Antique Walk, this event will feature hot air balloons on the Square and lots of great Shopping.
The Ridgeland Balloon Glow and fireworks will be held at Northpark Mall on Friday night, July 2nd.
The Canton Balloon Glow, Fireworks and Special Shape Fiesta will be held at the Canton Multi Purpose Center on Saturday night, July 3rd.
Golf Ball Drop Fundraiser
The Golf Ball Drop is OVER! If you had ball #54 you are our $2000 winner!
What’s a Golf Ball Drop and how does it work? First, you have to buy a ball (all will be numbered up to 1000). Then at the festival a hot air balloon will take the balls up in air and drop all of the balls onto the balloon glow field. The closest ball to the target or hole will win $2,000! Simple as that. Stay tuned for next years ball drop!
